Liam Gillick is a contemporary British artist known for his conceptual and installation art.
Born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, in 1964, Gillick has made significant contributions to the art world through his diverse body of work that spans various media, including sculpture, writing, and film.
Gillick studied at Hertfordshire College of Art and Design from 1983 to 1984, and then at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he graduated with a degree in Fine Art in 1987. His time at Goldsmiths placed him in the midst of the Young British Artists (YBAs), a group that included Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.
